In this follow up to the first in the series Diane Bator delivers a delightful mystery. Gilda Wright is as stalwart as she was in the previous story but it really was a delight to see her get flustered over the new hottie in town. It's funny that her relationship with Mick has changed in this story but in essence it really hasn't and instead of being annoyed by it I found in rather interesting. Mick is a rather interesting character and that fact plays well seeing as he once again is a suspect in a murder. Gilda's ex is back to give her a hard time and there are a whole new slew of suspects and even a few who are familiar. Her best friend is back and when she speaks she always makes me smile. If you like your mysteries on the cozy side this one is a good choice.
It seems Gilda Wright has a knack for discovering dead bodies. This time around she finds the body of a guest referee which puts a damper on the opening of the new martial arts school. Soon she finds herself enmeshed in secrets from the world of mixed martial arts even though she's promised to stay out of it. Will Gilda find the killer or become the next victim?
From acclaimed author Diane Bator, comes a page turning mystery that will leave you guessing until the end!
Gilda Wright's life seems to finally be on track. Her love life is looking up with her hot boss, Mick, and she's planning and promoting a grand opening extravaganza for his new martial arts school. But things go awry when their special guest referee for the opening's exhibition match is found dead on the beach. To make matters worse, the school's sexy new weapons instructor, Kane Garrick, stands accused of his murder. In spite of her promise to Mick and nearly everyone else in town to not get involved, Gilda—a.k.a. the Brunette Sherlock—wades into danger one more time. The only question is, can Gilda catch a killer before the killer catches up to her?
