Floribunda and the Best Men

A Fairy in the Bed

Lark Westerly puts a fresh spin on the reverse hareem theme with this charming paranormal fairytale. Hamish McTavish and Gervais St. Clair are the perfect men for Flori Alexandris and she can’t choose between them and thankfully these best friends decide she doesn’t have to. Flori is an interesting leading lady. She’s curvy and confident and although she is lonely and seems to suffer from a little case of ennui in no way did I feel sorry for her or see her in need of pity. I enjoyed seeing her swept along in a whirlwind of activity and adventure.

Hamish is a big brawny Scot who is so friendly and out going it was hard for me not to fall for him. In recent years, thanks to some fabulously well written heroes, I’ve come to rather fancy ginger men.

Gervais seems to be the polar opposite of his outgoing friend. But he's no less enticing for his calmer demeanor. He is a refined and distinguished man yet his passions run as deep or maybe even deeper than that of his boisterous best friend. He is a deep well of emotion and watching each level exposed kept me waiting to see how these three would find the proper balance.

The world building the author did was so stunning I felt myself emerged in the magic land and holding my breath to see if she could locate the friend she was looking for. If you are looking for a fun and fantastical read, this one is an excellent choice.

The Story: Invited to be a maid of honor at the last minute Flori is amazed to find there are two best men and they are both out of this world, truly not human. Suddenly her life is a fairy tale come true. She has not one man but two who seem to absolutely adore her. Can she trust in her very own happily-ever-after?

Book Blurb for Floribunda and the Best Men

Plus-sized florist Floribunda "Flori" Alexandris has no idea why Pen Swan should invite her to be a bridesmaid at her wedding, but she agrees anyway. At the church, she encounters the two best men; the biggest Scottish ginger she's ever seen and a cool blond Sir Galahad type. She has no idea which one she should shake hands with first, or whose hand to accept for the bridal waltz. Flori likes the look of them both, but that's nothing to their magnetic reaction to her. How to choose? The men have their own creative solution, but there's something exceedingly odd about Hamish McTavish and Gervais St Clair. They don't offer to drive her van, and when she runs off the road in the middle of the night, no mention of women drivers crosses their lips. So that settles it. They can't possibly be human.
