Falling For A Redneck

Eve Langlais gives fans something different with this contemporary romance. Dirk is a compelling hero the type of bad boy most of us dreamt about in high school and secretly still fantasize about. I love that he has cleaned up his act and is trying to be better for his little boys. Marissa isn't really what I would call a typical Eve Langlais heroine, while she has that snarky, bitchiness I've come to love from this author's leading ladies Marissa had none of the softness to round out the harshness. It was very hard for me to find a connection with this heroine which did affect my enjoyment of the story. The story itself drew me in straight away and it was well written and skillfully crafted, it really is a shame that I did not like the heroine. If you enjoy your heroes of the sexy and working-class variety then this is a solid read and a nice way to pass a weekend.

After his fair share of bad boy days, including a run in with the law, Dirk decides it's time to turn his life around. And if he won't do it for himself he'll definitely do it for his two young sons. So he decides they deserve a better life and moves to a nice neighborhood. Too bad someone didn't tell his new neighbor he wasn't looking for any trouble. Marissa is a successful career woman with her own issues and she uses anger as her main coping tool.
