Chasing Gold

Beyond Fairytales

Alexa Bourne takes readers on a treasure hunt in this fantastic suspense story.

Grace McKay is a strong and spirited heroine. Her personality is loaded with so many layers that make her easy to bond with. Simon Andrews stole my heart from almost from the very beginning. He is the man you not only want to bring home to your parents but you want to take back to your place. I'm a sucker for a well-developed beta male and this man is amazing. Each additional character in the story added not only depth and detail but major entertainment. I felt as if I were right alongside the lead couple, like Indiana Jones searching for a timeless artifact. Placing the story in Scotland was a major win because the setting itself is like a major character and the quirky inhabitants added some humor. I love that this story had so much emotion passion and adventure. If you are looking for some steamy escapade full of romance this is one to read.

The Story:

Simon Andrews is always left back at the office when his older brothers take off treasure hunting but this time around he's decided to take a chance and test his skill. Grace McKay is not too happy to have him along as she believes she doesn't need a partner. Andrew is as determined to break through Grace's defenses as he is to uncover the treasure with her.

Book Blurb for Chasing Gold

Grace McKay spends most of her time alone trying to convince the world she’s strong enough and smart enough to become one of the best treasure hunters. According to the media, though, all she’s managed to prove is she’s a frigid, narrow-minded woman who doesn’t have a chance to succeed in her current hunt.

Simon Andrews is tired of being a glorified secretary for his family’s treasure hunting business. As the youngest brother, he’s never had the chance to test himself in the field, where his true interests lie.

When Grace’s uncle hires Simon on a whim to assist her with the search for an ancient family heirloom, he comes up against a woman determined to accomplish her goal without his—or anyone’s—help. But Simon, although captivated by her passion for her quest and her beauty, will not relinquish his chance to prove to the client and his brothers that he has the family gift for finding valuables where others have failed.

Grace, frigid? Simon is sure the media met the wrong woman. He’s in danger of bursting into flames every time they are alone together. As they get closer to finding the heirloom, though, their growing passion for one another may distract them from the very real danger that threatens their lives and their possible future together. Whatever that might mean.
