Baker's Dozen

Amey Zeigler takes readers on an adventure with this complex mystery. Andy Miller and Hugh Donaldson are an intriguing duo. Their skills seem to balance each other out and watching them tiptoe around one another, not quite trusting and not quite believing, was so entertaining. I rather enjoyed the sense of suspension I found myself in. I was learning as well with every page. I anticipated each and every wardrobe change and costume choice Andy made while I tried to unsuccessfully figure out just who Hugh was working for. I got caught up in the mystery and adventure. The action pulled me into the story, but I felt as if Andy was lacking emotionally. After all people who were so very close to her experienced some tragic happenings and I felt as if she didn’t act quite distraught enough. I didn’t expect uncontrollable weeping and such as it would have been out of character, but I guess I just expected a little more reaction. If you are looking for an action packed suspense this story will definitely provide you with the adrenaline you are looking for.

The Story: Andy Miller uses her undercover skills as an investigative journalist to bring justice to Saint Luis. But when a crime hits close to home she’s determined to bring down the mob. Soon she’s dealing with someone just as determined as she is to bring down the criminals, but can she trust anything he says to her when they both seem to lie for a living?
