Desiree Holt takes readers on one heck of an adventure with this latest Arrowhead Bay suspense. Marissa Hayes and Justin Kelly have explosive chemistry and that is the perfect complement to the action of this story. I loved how swiftly this story drew me in and held onto me until the very last word. While I have enjoyed every previous book in this series this one has been my favorite by far. I loved how strong Marissa was and yet when she showed her vulnerability I only liked her more. Justin was so strong and practically silent, but oh did I hang on intently to the words he did use. I liked the fact that while our villain was definitely a villain he was in no way a caricature of one.
"A Deadly Business" is a detailed and developed story. The settings perfect and the characters engaging. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up. You’ll be so glad you did. And then you’ll be just like me, holding your breath until the next in the series comes out because Arrowhead Bay has some of the most fascinating people.
The Story: Marissa Hayes is a former CIA agent whose cover was blown and now she’s been living in Arrowhead Bay to stay off the radar. But she is discovered. Luckily this time she has protection in the form of her friend and former SEAL, Justin Kelly. Can she escape her past and find a future?
Someone to watch over her . . .
Her life in beautiful Arrowhead Bay seems like paradise. But for former CIA operative Marissa Hayes, it’s a deep cover she’s forced to live under after daring to take down a powerful enemy with strong terrorist ties. Out of necessity, she keeps her emotions as guarded as her life, even as she finds herself drawn to Justin Kelly, the most arousing man she’s ever met. But when Marissa must find a new place to hide, the able-bodied Vigilance agent is the first man she turns to . . .
Justin can’t get close to Marissa, if he hopes to keep her alive. Which only makes sharing a villa with her at a remote island resort all the more challenging. The passion rising between them is exquisite—and excruciating. Even more so when terrorists infiltrate the island, putting Marissa in the crosshairs. Now Justin will do anything to protect the woman he cares about more deeply than he dares to admit. . . .
