Scratch One presents itself as a summer read with the beach towel on the front and the girl laying out in the sunshine. While it is a good summer time read, the steady action is far from laid back. The mixture of guns, interesting locations and mistaken identify are perfect for this novel. Michael Crichton has created a fascinating character in Roger Carr. His response to being placed in a position of such extreme danger is priceless. This character makes the novel for me. I recommend every reader try this hard case crime novel- it will make you want to read the entire series. This is crime fiction at its best. While this was written under the pen name John Lange, I’m glad they have been re-released to the world.
To prevent an arms shipment from reaching the Middle East a terrorist group has been carrying out targeted assassinations in Egypt...Portugal...Denmark...France. In response, the United States sends one of its deadliest agents to take the killers down.
But when the agent is delayed in transit, lawyer Roger Carr gets mistaken for him. Now, with some of the world's deadliest men after him, will he survive long enough to prove his identity?
