Little Lek Longtail Learns to Sleep, by Bette Killion, is a cute children's story about how to overcome a common fear. Many children are afraid of one thing or another. Sleep has to be on the top of the list. Dark and the unknown both come together to form night- add to that separation from adults and kids don't usually want to go to sleep. Bette Killion takes a simple fear and explains how a simple creature overcomes his fear by watching those around him. The quality of this book is impeccable. I especially enjoyed the illustrations. I can't wait to read another of Mrs. Killion's books or poems.
