Dan Yaccarino has written a book that is quite simple, but will get readers thinking about it from the beginning. I love that different types of storytelling are depicted here. This is a book that will not only have the reader thinking, but questioning. As a teacher I can think of a bizillion lessons that could stem from this short story, and each one would be individualized. What a way to get children interested. I love it. As a parent, teacher, aunt, uncle or grandparent- you will love it too. This could be a great way to lead into discussing family folklore and ancestry. I highly encourage all to read and share with a young child.
