"Aunt Bee’s Mayberry Cookbook" was so much fun to read. I am a huge fan of "The Andy Griffith Show", and grew up watching the antics of the cast. The pictures taken from this hilarious comedy and inserted into the cookbook are wonderful. I loved the trivia questions, the facts about each actor, and yes, the recipes too!
Home cooking is what Aunt Bee did on the show, and home-cooked southern recipes are what this book is all about. The complete menus in the front are a great way to help cooks plan meals for several people at a time. I enjoyed seeing recipes cited as favorites of characters from the show. Every recipe included ingredients and measurements, but not pictures of the food itself. While I usually consider that to be a downfall, I wouldn’t have changed a thing about this cookbook. Any fan of that black-and-white show that made us all think we could whistle will appreciate this one.

Aunt Bee's Mayberry Cookbook is also chock-full of wonderful, rare photographs from "The Andy Griffith Show" and offers entertaining glimpses into "the friendly town." Many of the recipes are favorites from members of the show's cast and crew.
