"Seven Wonders: The Tomb Of Shadows" is by far the best book I've read this year. And it is the best book of the Seven Wonders series as of yet. Aly, Cass & Jack are truly put through the ringer in this next adventure. And some HUGE secrets are revealed. The trio traversed the world in "The Tomb Of Shadows" and I loved every second of their journey! They met some amazing new characters, and discovered new depths to the people they thought they knew so well.
Seeing these characters grow throughout the series is one of the things I enjoy the most when reading the Seven Wonders books. And their growth in "The Tomb Of Shadows" is unlike anything we've seen before in these books. Jack discovers himself, and Cass and Aly find their inner strength.
The puzzles and problem solving that are always incorporated into the Seven Wonders books added the usual fun to the story. Though this is just a small aspect of the book I feel as if I'm part of the quest when the puzzle is shown in pictures to me, the reader. There are so many aspects of these books that create one heck of a reading experience and I was glad to see every single fun part of Peter Lerangis's storytelling within this book.
I'm constantly surprised by Peter Lerangis, and his ability to write truly shocking endings to his books. And The Tomb of Shadows was no different. This book left me with a craving for more adventures, and made me wish the entire series was out so I could just speed right through all of the books. But alas I must wait for Book 4. Which will hopefully be out soon.....
After the quest in Babylon and his discovery, Jack has a lot to deal with. But before he has the chance Professor Bhegad sends Him, Aly and Cass to find the next Loculus. Unsure of where to start Jack rely's on his telling dreams and the guidance of the Professor to start their next quest. A quest that leads them around the world, and leaves this trio with knowledge of something much bigger than themselves.
Percy Jackson meets Indiana Jones in the New York Times bestselling adventure Seven Wonders! The Tomb of Shadows is the third in a seven-book series by master storyteller Peter Lerangis. This sequel to the bestselling Lost in Babylon and The Colossus Rises chronicles the adventures of Jack McKinley and his friends in a life-or-death race to the Mausoleum at Halicarnassus. In the rubble of this Wonder of the Ancient World, they have to face down their own demons and engage in an epic battle with foes long gone. But when promises are broken, blood is spilled—and the Select are left with no choice but to destroy the one thing that might have saved them all.
Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson series, praised Seven Wonders Book 1: The Colossus Rises as "a high-octane mix of modern adventure and ancient secrets. Young readers will love this story. I can't wait to see what's next in the Seven Wonders series!"
