Cat's Cradle

String of Fate, #1

I was very excited going into this book. But for some reason I just didn't connect with the characters. Elaine and Cade were good together and I loved the shape shifting aspects of this book, but I wasn't consumed by their relationship. Though I did enjoy that Elaine wasn't your typical submissive female. She knew how to take care of herself and she didn't rely on Cade's protection.

The suspense of the story was quite entertaining and I was happy when things worked out the way they did in the end. I am usually a huge fan of Samhain books, but for some reason Cat's Cradle was just a little disappointing. This book I'm sure is right for many other people out there but, for some reason it just wasn't right for me. I would recommend this book to people who love a suspenseful story and an alpha male cat shifter that knows how to make rough sex pleasurable.

Running late for her scheduled Jiu Jitsu class would be enough to ruin anyone's day, but when Elaine's sensei doesn't show up and her car goes missing she can't help but think the world is out to get her. Which may be true.

When she stumbles upon something less than normal she gets drawn into a world where shape-shifters are more common than she originally expected, and Cade her newfound protector just happens to be one. But as danger follows her around every corner she finds that the only thing worth trusting are her own instincts.

Book Blurb for Cat's Cradle

A match made in adventure…and blessed by Chuck Norris.

As bad days go, this one qualifies as one for the books. Elaine knew being late for her jiu jitsu class could earn her a reprimand from her sensei. But the sensei’s not there. And suddenly, neither is her car. Even walking home becomes problematic when she stumbles onto things that most definitely do go bump in the night. One of whom is too handsome for his own good—and too sexy for hers.

An Alpha Pantera Noir—black panther shifter—Cade operates on his immense skill, superior strength, and dominant personality. There’s something about this small spitfire of a human woman that threatens to bring him to his knees. She blundered into the middle of his mission to transport his queen to safety, and now it’s his responsibility to keep Elaine safe as well. Except no matter what he does, danger finds her at every turn.

Thrust into a world where the supernatural is commonplace, Elaine finds her considerable martial arts skill tested to the limit—and her ability to resist Cade crumbling by the second. But when nothing is as it seems, the last things she can trust are her own instincts…
