Once Haunted, Twice Shy

The Peyton Clark Series

Second in the cleverly written urban fantasy series Once Haunted, Twice Shy finds Peyton continuing to renovate her new old home, after the surprising discoveries in the first story. (Quick Tip: It’s good to read the first book in this series first, but it’s not needed. The author does a great job of telling of past events). Peyton is still possessed by the spirt of Drake Montague, the ghost who has been haunting her house. Drake is protecting Peyton from an evil entity called The Axeman. In the first book they thought they destroyed the Axeman only to discover that he is now released into the city!

Drake and Peyton crack me up, I love these two. I also love how the author fits in the boyfriend Ryan. It is just hilarious to me. The interactions between the three are funny and addictive. With action, romance, and some comedy Once Haunted, Twice Shy is a great addition and I will be looking for book 3!

After agreeing to let the spirit of Drake Montague inhabit her body, Peyton soon discovers that the twentieth-century French policeman may be dead but his lothario longings sure aren’t. Now she has to find a way to explain to her sweet, sexy boyfriend, Ryan Kelly that a spirit has taken up residence in her head, whispering French words of affection day and night.

Peyton is torn between her love for a living man and her growing affection for one deceased. Supernatural activity in New Orleans spikes—and something wicked this way comes. With the help of her friends (and a little voodoo), Peyton learns that the demonic spirit of the Axeman may still dwell in her home. To stop bloody history from repeating itself, Peyton will have to travel back a century to confront the Axeman at his roots, with the help of a certain handsome—and suddenly flesh and blood—police officer in the Big Easy.
