I am a super fan of the Kitty Series and Kitty in the Underworld was not my favorite in the series. Don’t get me wrong it was still a good read, but I feel not as good as the previous books. Kitty in the Underworld had action, adventure, and depth into the characters that Ms. Vaughn is known for, and for that it still makes a good read. I just couldn’t get into the whole kidnapping, it needed more action and more involvement with the other characters of Ben and Cormic. This is not Ms. Vaughn’s best piece of work, but not bad either. If you are a fan of the series you will want to read it for the glimpses we will get into the next Kitty story.
When Kitty gets word that there is an intruder in the Denver werewolf pack’s territory, she sets out to follow the lead. But what turns out to be a simple run turns into a trap. She is tranquilized and captured. Upon waking up, she finds herself in a silver mine: the perfect cage for a werewolf. Her captors are shifters who believe that Kitty will unite with them to put an end to Dux Bellorum. Though skeptical of their power and their sanity, Kitty soon realizes that they believe in what they are doing and want her to be a part of it. They want her help willing or not.

As Denver adjusts to a new master vampire, Kitty gets word of an intruder in the Denver werewolf pack’s territory, and she investigates the challenge to her authority. She follows the scent of the lycanthrope through the mountains where she is lured into a trap, tranquilized, and captured. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a defunct silver mine: the perfect cage for a werewolf. Her captors are a mysterious cult seeking to induct Kitty into their ranks in a ritual they hope will put an end to Dux Bellorum. Though skeptical of their power, even Kitty finds herself struggling to resist joining their cause. Whatever she decides, they expect Kitty to join them in their plot . . . willingly or otherwise.
