Zoe needs to hire a temporary dishwasher for her Greek diner until her regular guy recovers from a broken arm. Sean needs a temporary job until he begins professional training for a full-time career as a truck mechanic. “Too Hot to Touch” is a short but thoroughly enjoyable story about how these two people discover first lust, then love, in each other’s arms. In Sean, Zoe found the younger man who would push her sexual limits in a way she’d never experienced before. In Zoe, Sean finally met the older woman who was more than a match not only for anything he’d want in the bedroom, but also for any emotional issues he might throw her way. But Zoe worries about their significant age difference, in spite of Sean’s reassurances, and her belief that he might want children of his own one day threatens to end their relationship before it’s truly begun. It takes a moment of real danger for Zoe and Sean to realize the value of what they have together and their Happy For Now ending is both believable and satisfying. It was great to see Sean open up to Zoe about his PTSD and the events which had triggered it, and how Zoe responded to his need with her unconditional trust and love, helping him to trust himself in return. “Too Hot to Touch” is hot and steamy, to be sure, but it is also honest and touching, and one of the best novellas I've read this year.

She secretly wants one who will dominate her in bed too. Never one to back down from a challenge, Sean reports for duty. He wasn’t looking for an older woman, but Zoë breaks all of his rules. She makes his body sizzle even as she salves his emotional wounds. Their time together isn’t supposed to lead to forever. But once Sean gets a taste of Zoë, he’s determined to convince her that retreat is not an option.
