How I Spent My Summer Vacation

An Amanda Pepper Mystery

Sasha has a showing in Atlantic City and has invited Philly Prep English teacher Amanda Pepper to come with her for a short vacation. With only two weeks before Amanda has to start teaching her summer school class and no funds to go away she takes Sasha up on her invitation. Unfortunately Amanda's pension to find trouble has followed her to New Jersey. From the homeless woman on the beach to the dead body in her bed Mandy is once again pulled into the eye of the storm. Ms. Roberts leads us on a path filled with many twist and turns to keep us guessing where the story will go next.

This is the fifth in the Amanda Pepper series and can be read as a standalone story without much trouble, but if you want to follow the romance of Mandy and C K Mackenzie you will need to start at the beginning of the series with book 1, Caught Dead In Philadelphia. Gillian Roberts writes a clean well developed story line that anyone from high school on up can enjoy. This would be a fun read for yourself or as a gift to any cozy mystery lover on your gift list. I have enjoyed the series from the first and have another nine to go. I am still looking to see if I can figure out what the C K stands for before Ms. Roberts reveals it. That is if she ever does, but it is also fun to see what Amanda comes up with.

Come and join me as we try to keep up with Amanda Pepper as she tries to stay ahead of the killer and answer the time honored question of, "Who Done It?". I promise you will not be bored in the journey.

Book Blurb for How I Spent My Summer Vacation

Amanda Pepper's friend Sasha has a photography assignment in Atlantic City, and she invites her broke schoolteacher friend to come along for a free mini-vacation. But the two quickly discover there's more to lose than money at the shore when Sasha finds a stranger bludgeoned to death in her bed. When a witness identifies Sasha as having been at the scene, she Goes Directly To Jail and does not pass "Go." Under the boardwalk and between the slot machines, and sometimes with the help of a motley crew of gamblers, Amanda works to unearth the truth and free her friend.
