To Love and to Cherish

Cactus Creek Cowboys, #2

Laurie Spencer’s family is controlling. They even control whom she marries. She thought she’d never be free again when she says ‘I do’ to her husband. However, when her husband dies unexpectedly she takes the opportunity to leave her family for good.

Jared Smith moves to Texas to make a life for himself, but the bank turns him down. But an opportunity arises when Laurie offers him a deal. As much as he wants to respect their agreement, each day becomes more difficult when they get to spend time with each other.

I really enjoy this book. The story is amazing. Leigh Greenwood is really a master at Western books. I love cowboy stories, so this was perfect for me. I’m a sucker for a good romance and I enjoyed this one immensely. The love between Laurie and Jared is something beautiful. I loved reading every interaction between them.

It is wonderful that Laurie finds someone she can lean on. Her family is no help. I can’t imagine not having my family’s support. They are everything to me. They advise me and guide me along so I don’t make the mistakes they have made. So I feel very sorry for her, but at the same time I admire her for being such a strong person. She moves on and makes a life for herself. After her husband’s death, she becomes independent with the help from Jared. It is a win-win situation for both of them. At first its business but they end up being more than just business partners. They both find someone they can spend the rest of their lives with.

Check this book out. If you love western romance, this is for you.
