Summer at the Shore

Seashell Bay, #2

Ryan loves his freedom. Coming home to visit his parents is only for a few days but when he sees Morgan he rethinks his plan again. Morgan sacrifices her teaching career to try to save her family’s bed-and-breakfast and taking care of her sister. She doesn’t have time to spend on Ryan but with one kiss, her longtime buried feelings come back to life.

I love Morgan. She is willing to sacrifice her job to take care of her family bed-and-breakfast and cares for her sister, Sabrina. She’s practically left her life on the mainland to come home and picks up where her father left off. Despite devastated by her father’s death she keeps going and is strong for her sister. Even though the bed-and-breakfast isn’t doing well she tries really hard to help with business because the bed-and-breakfast means a lot to her sister.

Ryan is one of my favorite male leads. Morgan asks him to help her get the bed-and-breakfast back into shape but he went above and beyond what I expected. He is super sweet and does what Morgan asks of him even though he isn’t really comfortable being under the same roof with her because of his feelings for her. I love that he respects Morgan. Obviously he loves her very much but he doesn’t want to settle down yet and he will leave soon so he doesn’t push or ask her for anything that would make her uncomfortable.

I fell in love with the characters as well as the setting. The characters are likeable and the setting is very beautiful. This story is well written and the pace is great. It is a great read. Now I will go on to read Aiden and Lily’s story. I definitely recommend this series.

Book Blurb for Summer at the Shore

Morgan Merrifield sacrificed her teaching career to try to save her family's bed-and-breakfast and care for her younger sister. She can't let herself get distracted by Ryan Butler. After all, the rugged ex-Special Forces soldier is only in Seashell Bay for the summer. But her longtime crush soon flares into real desire-and with one irresistible kiss, she's swept away.

Ryan values his freedom. As much as he wants Morgan, he's not ready to settle down with anyone, much less in sleepy Seashell Bay. But his code of honor doesn't allow him to leave a woman in distress-and she's in desperate need of help to fix the inn. It only takes one day working under the same roof and Ryan is already hoping for a lifetime of hot summer nights . . .
