Viv Franklin is a brilliant software engineer and she is also a romance junkie. One day she received a call from her aunt’s lawyer that her aunt left a beautiful home on a cliff in Mendocino, California to her. She can’t believe that one of her fantasies has come true. Without a second thought she accepts her aunt’s will and goes to live at the house.
What she doesn’t expect is that the house comes with horses and a hot cowboy named Hank. Hank is everything she had imagined her hero to be. There she also meets Clark. Clark is far from her hero type, but there is something that keeps drawing her to him and she can’t resists wanting to be with him.
So how will she figure out who is her true hero?
I was very excited to read this book. I think there are a couple other books in the series, but I haven’t read any of them yet. But I will check them out soon. I really enjoyed this book. The pace was good and there wasn’t a boring moment. Alice Clayton is a brilliant writer. I’ve liked her writing so far.
There were some things that didn’t turn out as I expected…in a good way. I wasn’t really expecting her to end up with the guy she ended up with. I’m not complaining or anything. It was a nice twist to the story. And I do think that they suit each other.
Viv imagined all kind of stories of herself with the hero that loved her more than anyone else. I have to say she had an impressive imagination. Viv is very likeable and very interesting. She’s relatable. Personally, I also like romance books so I instantly liked her.
This is a wonderful book. Check it out if you haven’t. I’m sure you will like this one also if you like the others. I’m totally recommending it to anyone who likes romance.

And she gets to wear the bodice—don’t forget the bodice.

There’s a cowboy, one that ignites her loins. Because Cowboy Hank is totally loin-ignition worthy. But there’s also a librarian, Clark Barrow. And he calls her Vivian. Can tweed jackets and elbow patches compete with chaps and spurs? You bet your sweet cow pie.
