Elle Dupree has her life all planed out. She has a perfect wedding to plan for herself and she is on her way to getting her Ph.D. She has a loving fiancé and a great career ahead of her. So what can possibly go wrong? However, on her way home one day she finds her fiancé at the mercy of a vampire. After that day her life changes forever.
To my delight, when she sees the vampire instead of running away, she runs towards the vampire in attempt to save her fiancé. I have read enough books about how the male protagonist is always saving the heroine, so it is good to read a book about a heroine who can take care of herself. Elle’s story is very interesting. It kept me busy for a few days. The flow of the story is good, it’s not hard to follow along.
I really like the main character of Elle Dupree. She is very strong, smart, and tough. I liked how she took care of herself and stood up on her feet after what happen with her fiancé Greg. How shocking is it to find your fiancé being bitten by a vampire? If was her I don't think I would have the courage to face what would happen next. I liked her strength. I respected her for having the courage to keep going and face the challenges ahead of her after killing the vampire that bit Greg. Even though she was successful in saving herself, Greg has been turned into a vampire.
Legally Undead is different from other vampire books that I have read, which is very refreshing. This is my first time reading about vampires who are the bad guys. It is a nice twist. I liked the plot. The romance aspect is minimal in this book, but it is still enjoyable. Books with strong female protagonist will always be my favorite. I am very pleased with how the story turns out and will look forward to future books by this author.
Read this book if you want to read a book where there is no sparkly vampire.
A reluctant vampire hunter, stalking New York City as only a scorned bride can.
Elle Dupree has her life all figured out: first a wedding, then her Ph.D., then swank faculty parties where she'll serve wine and cheese and introduce people to her husband the lawyer.
But those plans disintegrate when she walks in on a vampire sucking the blood from her fiancé, Greg. Horrified, she screams and runs—not away from the vampire, but toward it, brandishing a wooden letter opener.
As she slams the improvised stake into the vampire's heart, a team of black-clad men bursts into the apartment. Turning to face them, Elle realizes Greg's body is gone—and her perfect life falls apart.
