His Favorite Cowgirl

Glades County, #2

Kelly Tompkins goes back to her grandfather’s ranch after an accident that left him unable to take care of the place. Kelly and her grandfather are not on the best terms but she goes back anyway to help out. Her plan is to sell the ranch to pay for his medical expenses and leave as soon as she can. What she didn’t expect is that she would see the one person she doesn’t want to see again, Hank.

Hank Judd thought coming back to the Circle P Ranch would be a good way for him to bond with his ten-year-old daughter. He wants nothing more. But when he sees Kelly, he has to resist falling in love with her again.

I really like the setting of this story. I love cowboy stories so I’m glad I picked up this book. It is a light and fun read. It’s a wonderful book. I think this could count as a clean romance. There are some kiss scenes but nothing too heavy. Their romance is sweet and lovely.

It is frustrating to see Kelly and Hank so against each other when clearly they both still love each other. Their parting is unfortunate. Misunderstanding is the worst. I guess, Kelly’s grandfather is also to blame. He never approves of anything Kelly does. The Tompkins and the Judd’s hates each other. So when Kelly dates one of the Judd's, it creates a rift between them. But I still think that it’s unfair to Kelly and Hank. Anyway, the whole time I cheered for them to get back together because they complete each other.

At first I didn’t like Noelle much because she seems a little bit bratty, but her character grew on me. Both her parents are not home enough, so growing up must have been lonely for her. Towards the end, she isn’t that bad. Moving to Circle P changes her.

This book is an enjoyable read. The characters are likeable and the setting is good. The flow of the story is good. I don’t really have anything to complain about. I enjoyed it very much.
