Against the Sky

The Brodies of Alaska

Nick worked as a homicide detective but decided to quit his job because he was tired of seeing violence. He went to Las Vegas for a little break and met Samantha. They spent a couple of unforgettable days together. After parting ways, they couldn’t forget each other and when Nick invited Samantha to Alaska, she couldn’t refuse his offer.

When I started reading the book I thought, not another Vegas book. I’d read many other stories where the characters met in Vegas so I wasn’t really excited when I was a chapter or two in the story. But this book kept surprising me throughout and did not end up being a disappointment. It got better and more intense as the story progressed. The story picks up so don’t stop reading if you’re a page or two in. Keep reading because it will be worth it.

I really liked the characters. Even though Nick and Sam didn’t have much in common they were a good fit for each other. Sam wasn’t the outdoor adventure type but Nick was really attracted to her. Despite their differences, they understand each other and they love each other so much but neither want to admit it.

The love scenes were so hot and passionate my face was on fire while reading them. I couldn’t stop smiling and squealing. Nick was so sweet and loving towards Sam. She was one lucky lady. Nick was one hot and sexy alpha male that was hard to ignore. He would do anything to make Sam happy.

Most of the settings in this book took place in Alaska. Even though I don’t like cold weather, how the author described it sounded amazing so I might go visit one day if I get a chance. I always wanted to travel so now there is one more place on my travel list.

This was a fun and great read that features romance and is a thriller. So many twists and turns that will force you to keep reading until you reach the end. I would recommend this to anybody.
