Lexi Carmichael is a woman but no your typical woman. No instead Lexi is a numbers woman and doesn’t dress or act like a woman. Her mother hates that she is not like her other siblings and thinks her job is just a hobby. Everything changes when her best friend Basia leaves her a package. Not just any package but one that turns her life upside down. Her life is centered in the National Security Agency finding hackers and just working nonstop. Working with the NSA she doesn’t have to worry about guys picking on her or her feelings getting hurt. Yet something about Finn Shaughnessy is making her wonder if maybe she has just been hiding from love. Her friends tell her to be weary of Finn, but her heart won’t stop from falling for him. Can she figure out the secret package Basia sent to her before she gets killed? Why is Finn in this case most of all?
Finn Shaughnessy has a secret, one that he must keep throughout the whole book. Something about Lexi Charmichael captures his attention like no other woman. The thing is that she thinks he’s behind Basia’s disappearance. He’s met many women but something about Lexi and keeping her alive keeps him going. Knowing that Lexi has the secret package makes his life riskier than ever especially when Lexi is about to uncover the truth before him. Can he protect Lexi before the real killers find her?
This is the first I have read from Julie Moffett and won’t be the last. Lexi Charmichael is definitely unique and not your regular damsel in distress. The story kicked off with a bang with someone trying to kill Lexi and then her figuring out how to stay alive. You have Middle Eastern people attacking her left and right then muscle bound guys trying to take her out by gun or cars. I loved that the book had it all including romance, espionage, action and most of all men who want Lexi no matter what. Julie Moffett definitely has a way of bringing romance with suspense all in one book making it action packed fun.

Even though I work for a top-secret agency, I've never been in an exciting car chase, sipped a stirred (not shaken) martini, or shot a poison dart from an umbrella.
Until today, that is, when two gun-toting thugs popped up in my life and my best friend disappeared. So, I've enlisted the help of the Zimmerman twins—the reclusive architects of America's most sensitive electronic networks—to help me navigate a bewildering maze of leads to find her.
Along the way, my path collides with a sexy government agent and a rich, handsome lawyer, both of whom seem to have the hots for me. Hacking, espionage, sexy spy-men—it's a geek girl's dream come true. If it weren't for those gun-toting thugs...
