Mercy in Passion
Passion Series, #3
Okay I have to say, I just love this series and I can’t believe it’s already over…I hated to see it end as I want more. I’ve just discovered the works of Shiela Stewart and highly recommend her work…she is a very talented writer.
Disappointment that is all he is to his family. Justin Davis grew up in a normal life, his father Victor Davis and Julia loved him. His Uncle Tom Healy and Cassie adored him yet that wasn’t enough for him. He always thought he had to work hard for he was the son of police Chief Victor Davis. He didn’t think anybody would miss him when he left but never expected Beth Healy to hate him. She was the one thing in his life he could count on. Coming back to the town of Passion he never thought he would be sucker punched by her beauty. Gone was the tomboy friend he missed and now she is a beautiful cop with a body that is making him wonder if she wouldn’t mind playing doctor. Justin knows he hurt a lot of people but never expected one of them to threaten him. Everyone thinks he’s getting in trouble on purpose. His own mother doesn’t trust him but what hurts him the most is the disappointment in Beth. She was always there for him and now he’s determined to wipe away the disappointment on her face. Can he find out who is threatening his life before they hurt Beth?
Beth Healy has always loved Justin Davis. Growing up with him as a child she always loved him but when he left it tore her up. Seeing Justin after no call or letters after six years was a punch to her stomach. She swore if he ever came back she wouldn’t fall for him. Yet one look from him and she remembers the great times they had. One night of naughtiness is making her wonder what kind of relationship they would have had if he never left. Beth knows it is wrong to think of a future with him but something about him is different. She is unsure of Justin right now and the feelings that are growing between them are confusing her. He will always be her best friend but Beth is afraid of the woman in her admitting her feelings for him. Love was always there but now as an adult she is unsure of what his feelings for her are right. Justin thinks he can never be the man she needs but she is afraid of opening her heart again. Can she learn to forgive and love again?
Everybody is back and it was exciting to see everybody has grown and the life they have led. It was interesting to see Justin back after being gone from the family that loved him. Gone is the young adolescent and now here is a man who is still seeking acceptance from his family. I loved Beth and even though she was a tough cop she was definitely a woman inside who needed someone like Justin to love her.
Shiela Stewart created a great book and a fulfilling series. This series is definitely worth keeping around. Shiela’s work is imaginative and her characters delightful. I loved the whole series. What drew me in was its wonderful characters and the town of Passion. I wish we had a town like it, for Passion is where romance can be found and a whole lot of action.
