It's been over a year since Vanessa Bingham has been loved or has felt loved. Losing her husband was the biggest pain she has ever felt yet somehow losing Derek Lane is topping that pain. For years they were the closest of friends. They did everything together and it was Derek who was there when her husband died. Now that it is just them Vanessa is seeing something in him that wasn't there before. Trying to come to grips that Derek has feelings for her is something she never expected and in some ways it scares her. She knows it is time to love again but knowing that one day he could be gone scares Vanessa. Derek is strong and healthy but the doubts of him having real feelings for her are unreal. Can she give in to his love and finally be happy again?
Derek Lane has been her best friend for years and stayed away from his best friend's wife to give them the life they wanted. Knowing that his best friend got to her first was hard for him. He's always loved Vanessa and like a gentleman let her be with his best friend. Yet now that he is gone he knows it's his time to make a move, but he's afraid that the feelings will not be returned. He has known Vanessa for years and knows how she thinks, so this is huge for him. Laying his heart out is not something he does often but he feels Vanessa is the one for him. He loved his best friend like a brother but seeing them together was too much for him. Knowing someone is after Vanessa though is something he won't stand away from. Vanessa says she needs space but Derek has waited long enough and now wants her badly. Can he prove to Vanessa that his love for her has always been for real?
Kathleen Dienne has done it again in showing us that even though we think we have loved there is always room for more love. Vanessa is a woman who just lost her soul mate and now feels all alone. Derek has always been there for her through thick and thin but now is impatient. I loved that even though they were best friends Derek stayed away even when we can see how much in love he is with her. There were some parts that were a little suspenseful had will have you wondering who is after Vanessa yet Derek was always there for love and comfort. I say Great job to Kathleen Dienne. I can't wait for more.
