Genevieve Fitzsimmons is in a predicament. She has no choice but to come to Scotland, a place that seems so foreign to her. Coming to Scotland as a governess to a little boy is a new start for her in every way. Genevieve knows it will be hard work but she is determined to do it even when the little boy doesn’t want her. Meeting a man like Connor Douglas is definitely temptation every day for her. Connor constantly intrudes her thoughts and teaching his little boy just gets harder each day. Seeing him each day is making her see that he is not the same brooding, silent man she first met but a father who is trying to be a good dad. Can she continue as a governess when she has fallen in love with her employer?
I love historical romances and Julie Moffett’s, Her Kilt-Clad Rogue, just makes my reading more of a delight. Connor Douglas is a proud man and will never ask for help. Meeting Genevieve makes him feel things. Everybody knows that he is a man driven to succeed and never will love a woman. He is a man who doesn’t care for love but seeing Genevieve is making him rethink his whole idea on love. Here is a woman coming across to Scotland to teach his son no matter how many times the little boy has played tricks on her. Can he convince her that he wants to see her as more than a teacher?
Historical Romances are my favorite and Julie Moffett has proven that even across the pond love can occur no matter the situation. The storyline between Connor and Genevieve was interesting to read. I enjoyed these two denying the love that existed. Now the little boy was great to read about for just like the father he needs love in his life. Genevieve is just the right woman to show the father and son that love does exist with a little patience and faith. Great job and I can’t wait for more from this awesome author.
Englishwoman Genevieve Fitzsimmons never expected she'd return to the wilds of Scotland. And she certainly didn't expect to become governess to the son of Connor Douglas, the man with whom she shared her first kiss and her first heartbreak. The man who still intrigues her.
For Connor, duty means everything. Years ago, it forced him to break Genevieve's heart and marry another woman-one who made him miserable. Now a widower at odds with his son, he's determined to put his heart first.
As Connor and Genevieve begin to find their way toward a future together, they can't escape the past. Someone is bent upon revenge against Connor and his feelings for Genevieve make her the perfect target.
