Healing Hearts

Emma Whiteside proposed to Adam Caldwell years ago never thinking he would become an enemy. Years ago she fell in love with a man but now he is a stranger to her. She trusted him with not only her heart but with her family. Adam was the only reason why they let her brother go to war. Yet it is because of him she had to grow up quick to support her family. As a young woman she had to find ways to manage her finances and help her father with the pain of heartache. Seeing Adam again pulls at her emotions. She thought it would be with vengeance but a kiss from him changes everything of her plan to destroy him. Can she continue with her plan of vengeance or will she succumb to his seduction?

Years ago Adam Caldwell was enchanted with a girl. He couldn't wait to marry her. Seeing her again makes him wonder what happened to that little girl that bewitched him. Emma now is a vindictive woman set on ruining him. She thinks he is the reason her brother is gone but he is determined to change her mind about him. All he wants is to be the man she fell in love with and not the crippled man he is now. As an army major he is used to people fighting for his attention, but Emma is nothing like his soldiers. She is instead fighting him in every way. Can he convince her that they belong together and he is not at fault for her brother's mistakes?

Taryn Kincaid has done it again in a tale of second chances and making things right in the past. I loved that Emma was determined to make Adam pay for her pain and all the bad things happening with her father. The love is still there and now as an adult Adam is determined to make her his woman. The one thing I didn't like was that the passion came up real quick, which in some ways is good but I wanted a little more chase between these two. Other than that it was a great read and I can't wait for more from Taryn Kincaid.

The passion between them makes him want to reclaim the man he was before the war.Though she tries to hold on to her hatred, Emma's longing for Adam is undeniable, especially after the two share a smoldering kiss. Still, Adam is certain no woman would want a man so damaged. Can Emma prove him wrong?
