Desire

Nick Lavery is a guy who just got a “Dear John” letter from a woman he thought was his soul mate. He never expected it but now he is single again. All Nick wants is a woman to come home to and love forever. His friends say not to jump on the wagon of dating again. Yet all his friends’ advice goes out of the window when he meets Tasha Kelly. Something about this woman intrigues him and interests him. Each day with Tasha though is bringing something to his life he hasn’t had in a while. It’s bringing fun back in his life and passion. It’s more than the typical passion with two people as Tasha is someone he can see spending his life with right away. Just when he thinks things are going somewhere his past comes back to haunt him again and now he’s confused about his relationship with Tasha.

Tasha Kelly’s life revolves around work and more work. Her friends say she doesn’t have room for love or even sex for that matter. Yet when she meets Nick Lavery something changes in her life. Instead of her mind being on work it’s always on Nick. She knows it’s wrong to think of him especially since he just got dumped but her heart says to go for Nick. Tasha knows he’s got issues and yet she can’t stay away from him. The passion between them is hot but she wants more than just sex. Can she let Nick go when the time comes?

Ah Desire comes in many ways. It could be something delicious, something fun to have and in Nick’s life it is one woman who sets his heart afire. It’s the wonderful Tasha Kelly. Something about this woman entices him. He knows it’s wrong to fall for her especially since his breakup recently, but he wants her. I loved that these two deny the attraction but loved that they are so right for one another. It was fun to read about Nick trying to cope with his attraction towards Tasha. Then there’s Tasha who wants Nick but keeps saying no towards him.

Marie Rochelle did a great job with this short story. It was just so fun to read.

Desire is when you close your eyes, think of what you want...then you can smell it, taste it, and feel it stroking your skin. It's almost better than sex...almost.

Communications Specialist Nick Lavery never thought he would be the recipient of a Dear John letter. When his girlfriend ran off with another man, she left it taped to the refrigerator door. He wasn't thinking about meeting anyone new when he decided to stop for a cup of coffee to drown his sorrows.

Tasha Kelly was taking a much needed break from her job as a supply store chain manager at the local coffee shop when she noticed him at the counter ordering something to drink. It was then that she started craving more than caffeine...
