Maddie doesn’t want to go back to Lucky Harbor. She left years ago when her mother didn’t want her anymore. Living in L.A. was great but ever since her career ending she is ready for something new. Lucky Harbor was a great summer retreat but living there permanently never crossed her mind until now. The inn that her mother left her and her sisters seemed like a great start to figure out where her life is going now. All she wanted was to make over the inn not to meet a man like Jax. He is a jack of all trades from contractor to carpenter and even mayor of the town. This definitely blows her mind away. She doesn’t know why a gorgeous, hot and sexy looking man would want anything to do with her. Can she convince him and her heart that she doesn’t need love right now?
The Sweetest Thing
Lucky Harbor is a place Tara knows she will be safe and get a fresh start in life. She never thought of coming back to Lucky Harbor divorced and with no idea what to do. She never got along with her sisters, especially Maddie. Yet working with her in renovating the inn their late mother left them seems like the right thing to do. She never expected though to meet her ex, Ford in Lucky Harbor. Summers spent with him were a treat for her but seeing him every day is wreaking havoc in her life. There are things in her past she doesn’t want her sisters to know about, but also things she never confronted herself before. Coming to Lucky Harbor is more than reconnecting with her sisters. Can she overcome her fear of heartache with the one man she has never stopped loving?
In one word Jill Shalvis latest is sweet. I loved these sisters who don’t really act like sisters, but they are more than friends. The connection between these two is strained but they make an effort to talk about their problems. Unlike family bonding these two see how messed up their lives are but make an effort to correct them. Now the men in the book are definitely working hard for their love for these two women are strong and independent. Coming to Lucky Harbor seems like a great place for all four to find what they have been searching, and that is love. I loved it and once again Jill Shalvis shows us that with faith, hope and the effort anything is possible.
