Shelley Shepard Gray continues her series with A Texan Honor. This one is about Will McMillan a good man who has gone badly. Nobody knows why he’s on the thieving Walton Gang except him. For months now he has been undercover trying to bring the whole gang down. Everybody thinks he’s a bad man but Captain Clayton Proffitt will do everything he can to make sure this mission gets accomplished. Everything was going as planned until a feisty, beautiful and spirited woman like Miss Jamie Ellis goes up against the whole gang. As a member of the Walton Gang he is supposed to be vicious, ruthless and cold-hearted yet something about this woman is going to make him break. Can he keep up with his cover or die protecting her?
Shelley Shepard Gray has a way with words that pulls you in. In A Texan’s Honor, the sequel to A Texan’s Promise, we meet undercover agent Will McMillan. Here is a man who just wants to get his job done yet distraction gets in the way. Now Miss Jamie Ellis is one woman who I think could take the whole gang down. Her actions in the book just surprise me especially considering this is a gang of men who thrive on robbery and killing. Yet through it all Clayton Proffitt and Will McMillan watch over her. Shelley Shepard Gray did a beautiful job in showing us that with faith and hope anything is possible. This is a great book and I can’t wait for the next one especially if it’s about Clayton.
