Damaged Pieces

A Cape Isle Novel, #2

Holy cow!!!!!!!!! What a fantastic book. It was well written with a good plot, conflict, description of characters, and the flow of the story was exceptional. The story is written in such a way that the reader feels like they are right there with the main characters. Katie and Nick change their relationship from “just friends” to passionate lovers forming a relationship that is meant to last a long time. Katie is apprehensive about going into a relationship because of a previous boyfriend. A boyfriend that is also the father to her ten-year old daughter, named Abigail. Abigail and Katie are a package deal. Nick wants a relationship with both ladies even though he going back overseas as a solider.

Nick makes a decision to do one last tour as a Marine and come back to Katie and Abigail. Katie knows how terrible it will be to say good-bye even though he plans to comeback as a civilian. Nick promises both Katie and Nick that he will be back for more dinner dates! Nick never considered how difficult it would be to leave Katie and Abigail.

Katie and Abigail wait for Nick come back but tragedy strikes!!!!!!!!! Changing everything!!!!!!!!! or does it? Promises are broken!!!! Nick goes through a dark time of healing his soul and finds that nothing will be complete without his family!!!!!!!! A family that should include Katie and Abigail but Nick screwed up regardless of what happened to him. Please read this with box of tissues!!!!

I would give this story a rating of 10 stars if at all possible!! The author did an amazing job of dealing with a difficult topic while writing a wonderful story that I am sure someone will relate to in some way. The story was written as a standalone but connected slightly to first in the series. I loved all the characters!!!!!! and found myself crying a lot because I felt so much for Katie, Abigail, and Nick.

Book Blurb for Damaged Pieces

“When something is damaged or broken, the pieces can be put back together, but they will never be the same.”

KATIE: When I was left to raise my daughter alone, I decided dating just wasn't worth it. I never wanted my daughter to experience the kind of heartbreak only a man can give you and I didn't have the time, until Nicholas Sinclaire came walking into my life with his charming smile and his mischievous eyes. I just wish I would have known how it was going to end.

NICK: I knew she was it for me the moment I met her, but I had to leave. I had one more tour to do overseas and then I could come home to her for good. Little did we know, I wouldn't come back the same man. I was damaged beyond repair, so I pushed them away and hurt them. It didn't take me long to realize the mistake I had made. Now, I will stop at nothing to get them back in my life, but will Katie want my Damaged Pieces?

*This book can be read as a standalone.
