Books by this author are generally a mixture of class, many diversified characters and relationships between these people and sometimes passion and lust.
This title is a story of a marriage between two very high profile people (an actress and a writer) that is pulled apart by a bad decision by the wife and someone with a camera who decided to put her indiscretion on the internet. The wife, Regina Baptiste, is an award-winning actress who is married to James Thicke, a writer/producer. Regina and her recent co-star Johnny Bergs have been taped having sex by someone and the tape is going viral on the Internet. Thicke is not too happy about this and has already beaten up Johnny and is on the hunt for Regina, who has left their home and no one knows where she is at the moment.
James received a copy of the tape before it went on the Internet, hence the attack on Johnny and the police and all the reporters in the world have gathered at the Thicke home. James takes off until all the hoopla is quieter and settles down in a small apartment house in Downey, California, not too far away from home. He starts to try and find out how this happened and to help his wife get out of this mess.
A good story but, a little too much (in your face) erotica. The story, by itself is full of intrigue. There are lots of characters both in the apartment house that James ends up in and all the blackmail and revenge that a good thriller reader expects. There are a couple of very strong female characters in the book and it is an extremely fast-paced novel. "The Accidental Affair" has a great ending a little like Mickey Spillane's work.
"Being married is like a stagecoach ride in the old West.
When you started, you hoped for an enjoyable trip.
Before you reached the halfway point, you just hoped to live to tell the tale."
I really appreciated the saying above and the author left us with a line from "Gone With the Wind." You remember, of course, Scarlett saying "Tomorrow is Another Day." As I remarked, this book was a good read so, enjoy!!!
Obsession. Intrigue. Murder. New York Times bestselling author Eric Jerome Dickey once again "pushes romance and deceit to the next level" (USA Weekend), in this tantalizing tale of a high- profile marriage rocked by an unhappy accident: infidelity.
James Thicke is a man whose mysterious past runs as deep as his violent streak. He's channeled the intensity of his soul into twin passions-success as a screenwriter, and marriage to movie actress Regina Baptiste. In the midst of filming his latest script, starring Regina and leading man Johnny Bergs, James receives a video of his wife caught in the most compromising of situations.
Hours later, the clip of the on-set infidelity has hit the Internet and gone viral in the blogosphere and across all channels of social media. James responds to the affront by savagely attacking Johnny Bergs, and the spectacle has both the paparazzi and the police amassing at the married couple's estate. James goes on the run, but only as far as the city of Downey, California. As James tries to protect Regina from Hollywood's underbelly, lust, blackmail, and revenge become his constant companions. Does an accidental affair spell permanent danger?
An Accidental Affair has the eroticism of Pleasure, the intrigue of Thieves' Paradise, the relentless pacing of Drive Me Crazy, and a female lead as complex as Genevieve.
