Escape the Night

This is a light erotic suspense novella that is easily read in an afternoon. The heroine of the story Anya Kane is a small town girl who has come to San Antonio, Texas and gotten a job in an office. Anya has issues about her image and about her personal worth and thinks that moving to a large city will help her with those issues. She runs into two girlfriends, Amy and Stella, at a restaurant in the company of a very good-looking man, Virgil Branson. Anya is somewhat surprised with the unfriendly behavior that her two friends exhibit towards her, however, Virgil makes up for it.

Unbeknownst to Anya, Virgil Branson traffics sex slaves and he has plans for Anya to become a part of his merchandise, after taking her out on a few dates, Virgil kidnaps Anya but she manages to escape and calls her boss, Gus D’ Amato, who it turns out is an FBI agent. Gus comes to Anya’s rescue and is pleasantly surprised to find out that she has information on a criminal that he has been pursuing for some time. Virgil is arrested, placed on trial and sent to prison but promises to get even with Anya and the other women who had testified against him. Meanwhile, Gus and Anya discover their mutual attraction for each other which leads to a red-hot affair and they move in together.

Six months later Anya is pleased with her life, she’s happy working for the government and her affair with Gus is smoking hot. Trouble arrives though when Virgil manages to escape from prison and both Anya and Gus go on the run to keep Anya safe. Gus soon realizes that Virgil had help in escaping, both at the prison and when the backup agent at the “safe house” that Gus and Anya are staying in is killed by a hired assassin. Gus and Anya go back on the run and Gus realizes that there is a traitor at the FBI who is feeding information to Virgil and his crew. This leaves Gus with very few choices of where he can take Anya to keep her safe but does lead him to realize how deep his feelings for Anya run and decide that after they are safe that they will start to plan for their future.

Since I don’t want to give away any spoilers as to what happens to Anya and Gus, I will say that the novella has a very satisfactory ending. I do want to advise that there is some anal sex in the book in case that turns you off. I also felt that one word in particular was used excessively in the book and that some women find offensive.

Book Blurb for Escape the Night

When Anya Kane escaped the darkness Virgil Branson was selling her into, she sought help from her boss, Gus D’Amato, a hot and hunky FBI agent. Six months later she is out of his office and in his bed, enjoying the most erotic sex imaginable and forging a bond with the man who makes every muscle in her body quiver. But things go dramatically wrong, and between bouts of thermonuclear sex that set them both on fire, Gus finds himself struggling to keep them both safe.
