Rebecca is engaged to her best friend, Stu. Something's missing though and she just can't go through with the wedding. She goes to find Stu, to call it off, and she finds him kissing a male friend. Stu is surprised to see Rebecca, but they mutually agree they shouldn't get married. Stu asks Rebecca not to tell his family about the kiss. He lets her in charge of the inn and leaves town to think things through. Stu's brother Sean has been out of town and shows up at the inn for the wedding, not knowing it's been called off. Sean is mad at Rebecca when she doesn't tell him where or why Stu has gone, but she's promised Stu she wouldn't tell anyone. The attraction between them is instant, but neither wants to get willingly involved. Now they have to work together to run the inn while Stu's away and that could be a distraction neither one can deny.
With This Kiss is incredibly sweet and romantic. The characters all have complicated issues of their own, but they help each other to work everything out in a loving, nurturing way. They're not all as close as they'd like to believe, but as things unfold, all the secrets, lies, and betrayals come out in such a family way, it's somewhat easy to relate to. This book is about a "real" romance and not something sticky sweet where everything works out perfectly, the end. I like this story because it's got depth, and all the problems are not easily dealt with, but in the end all issues are finally overcome and love prevails. The sex is sensual and loving, the love very evident. This story is very well told and you'll want to read is again and again. I look forward to reading more from this series!
