Ian had many names in his life, including Outlaw, Preacher and Night Hawk. He'd been many things, but only when he'd rescued Maggie did he find the man he was meant to be.her lover and husband, Ian. Maggie had been falsely arrested for accidentally killing a man. Now a Marshall, Preacher was responsible for transporting her to prison. Their lives became quite an adventure, filled with heartache, grief and hard times. As Preacher repeatedly rescued Maggie, things slowly changed and Maggie became attracted to the hero Preacher became. Finally she had found someone who didn't treat her badly because of her heritage and helped her instead of hurting her.
This is my first Beverly Jenkins novel, and I really enjoyed it. Night Hawk is a great historical romance, with a handsome hero who always knows when to come to the rescue. It doesn't get any more romantic than that. There were hard times the hero and heroine struggled through, which made the story more intricate and at the same time much more interesting. The story evolved at a steady pace, which made it a fast read. Night Hawk keeps you on the edge of your seat with arson, shoot-outs, hatred and jealousy.and of course, in the midst of all that, a heartwarming love that will win out in the end. You'll also notice a warming trend as Ms. Jenkins gives us some ooh-la-la sex throughout the book. You're gonna be thrilled with Night Hawk, so don't miss it!
Outlaw.Preacher. Night Hawk. He's had many names, but he can't escape the past.
Since Ian Vance's beloved wife was murdered years ago, the hardened bounty hunter knows he'll never feel love or tenderness again, so he's made it his mission to ensure others get their justice. But when he's charged with delivering a sharp-eyed beauty to the law, Ian can't help but feel he may still have something left to lose.
Orphaned at twelve, Maggie Freeman has always found her way out of trouble. But now there's a vigilante mob at her back who would like nothing more than to see her hang for a crime she didn't commit. Maggie may have to accept help for the first time in her life . . . even if it's from the one man standing between her and freedom.
As the past closes in, the sassy prisoner and toughened lawman may just find a passion between them that could bring blinding happiness . . . if they'll let it.
