Kaylie finally moved back to the one place where she always thought as home. She even bought the house which held most of her happy childhood memories. She also came back home so that she can find her birth parents and find out why they gave her up. The one thing that she never thought she would find was love and friends. The one place where she thought she could live alone became a place of where she could not be alone any longer.
Ten is a construction worker who knows a lot of people who can do a lot of things. He also has a past that he wishes he could change; he was hired to help Kaylie with her renovations. He just never thought that he would see the light at the end of his dark tunnel. He never thought that he would find the one person who will see through all of his flaws and still love him. It was his greatest dreams come true.
The book was full of surprises. Each chapter held some new secret that was to be unveiled to Kaylie. Each chapter brought Ten and Kaylie closer together as well. Kaylie learned who her father really was and what happened to him. She fell deeply in love with Ten. Before she could do what she dreamed about with her house, she had a few surprises come her way. Those surprises were both good and bad. But in the end Kaylie got what she needed. She got the support of the man she loved and the bonding she needed with her father.
I completely fell in love with this book from the very beginning. The synopsis is what drew me to the book in the first place. I am glad that I was not disappointed when I read the book,
The author is an amazing writer and brought her characters to life. I cannot wait to read any other book by this author. I cannot wait to see if there is a second book in this series and I want to read that as well.
Growing up, Kaylie Flynn was shuffled from foster home to foster home before being welcomed into Winton and May Wise’s family. It was May who taught Kaylie how to bake, and years later, May left Kaylie the money she needed to open her own café in the charming Victorian they once shared. Now back in Hope Springs, Kaylie’s determined to finally make all her dreams a reality—and also unearth the answers to lingering questions about her past.
Soon, however, Kaylie’s carefully laid plans take an unexpected turn. The house needs far more work than she realized, and Tennessee Keller, the carpenter Kaylie hires, is proving to be a very unneeded and very handsome distraction from her quest to uncover the truth about her parents. When a crisis threatens to destroy everything she’s worked so hard to build, Kaylie must decide where her heart lies: with the ghosts of her past or the love and promise of her future.
