Kate is fulfilling her dream of owning her own business with her two best friends from college. They opened a match making business. Kate also has a secret. She has a gift. The gift is that she can tell if two people are meant for each other or not. But she refused to actually use it at her job. She resigned herself to being single for a long time, if not for the rest of her life.
Slade is a hot divorce lawyer who is over protective of his younger sister. When he was told she joined a match making service, he wanted to investigate it to make sure she wasn’t being ripped off. He just never thought that he would be attracted to one of the owners.
Kate and Slide always butted heads when they were in the same room together. Kate tried not to touch him and Slade wanted nothing but to touch her. They danced around each other for a while until they kissed. And once that happened it was over for the both of them. Kate was in denial about him being her soul mate when she lost her ability. Slade just couldn’t get her out of his mind no matter what he did or who he dated.
When it comes down to it, you simply cannot fight fate. A spark between two people cannot be denied, even if it is a small one. No one wants to play the “what if” game with something or someone they could be completely happy with.
I totally loved the epilogue. That particular point of view was amazing to read and a nice surprise by the author.
I have been a fan of this author for a while and loved that she came out with a new series. I cannot wait to see who she writes about next.
In charming Verily, New York, Kate Seymour has a smashing success with Kinnections, the matchmaking service she owns with her two best girlfriends. But Kate’s more than a savvy businesswoman: She’s gifted with a secret power, a jolting touch that signals when love’s magic is at work. It rocked her when she picked up a strange volume of love spells in the town’s used bookstore . . . and it zapped her again when she encountered Slade Montgomery, the hot-tempered—and hot-bodied— divorce lawyer who storms into Kinnections demanding proof that playing Cupid won’t destroy his vulnerable sister, Kate’s newest client. The only way to convince this cynic that she’s no fraud, and that love is no mirage, is for Kate to meet his audacious challenge: find him his dream woman. Can Kate keep their relationship strictly business when her electrifying attraction nearly knocked her off her feet? Or has the matchmaker finally met her match?
