This was completely different then I thought it would be. I enjoyed it immensely. I could not stop reading it. I always wanted to know what was going to happen between the two characters next.
Lizette is an immortal. She does not know how she became one, she just knows she is. She has decided to see a therapist because she wants to commit suicide. She does not want to be immortal anymore.
Colin, a psychologist, has treated immortals before. He is the type of doctor that really cares for his patients and will try anything to help them. He is also completely attracted to Lizette the very first time he sees her.
Lizette first meets Colin in his office. She tells him that she is immortal and wants to find a way to kill herself, and he is her only hope in doing that. She also gives him an attitude. She shows that she has spunk and she wouldn’t take anything from anyone. Colin prescribes her an anti-depressant and asks her to figure out if there is anything she would like to do for a hobby. She took it for two days and it made her feel worse than she did. It also gave her a complete attitude change. So she just stopped taking them. The next time she saw Colin, she yelled at him for charging so much for each hour. She told him that she would be broke before he had a chance to cure her.
Every time Colin sees her, he becomes more and more attracted to her. He also tried to convince himself that he shouldn’t act on how he feels because he doesn’t want to lose his practice. He knows that he has to do something, even if it means losing his practice.
Lizette ends up trying to seduce him from the time they eat until the time they get back to her place. Colin tells her that he thinks they are moving too fast and need to slow down. Who ends up seducing whom?
I fell in love with this book. It had everything it needed to suck a reader in. The author wrote an amazing book. It made me believe that love can be found anywhere and when you least expect it.
