I really enjoyed reading this book. The way that the author kept you guessing when the main characters are going to get together was brilliant. It was not stopped humor and romance, with just a little bit of thrill along the way.
Jazz is a kindergarten teacher in a Catholic school. To make ends meet she also got a job working at a marina in the summertime. She lives her life the best way she can while trying to forget her past.
Kurt is the friendly neighborhood fireman. Everyone in town thinks he is going to marry the mayor’s daughter but he knows different. He is still on the hunt for the right person for him to fall in love with.
While working at the marina, Jazz was asked to help out with an investigation. The investigation had to do with things that were going on with the mayor’s office. The police needed solid proof and asked Jazz for her help. Along the way, Jazz met Kurt and started to fall for him. That was until she started to hear the rumors about him and the mayor’s daughter. Jazz just did not want to get hurt again.
Throughout the whole book it was a lot of back and forth between Kurt and Jazz. The tension that was going on between them was a very interesting read. I was glad to find out that they ended up together in the end. Kurt put his firefighter training to work and became Jazz’s true hero.
I completely enjoyed this book. I found a lot of parts funny because I was a kid who went to catholic school. Some of the school scenes, I can actually picture the class bullies doing. It put a huge smile to my face. I was extremely happy to read those parts it brought me back to my childhood.
There were really no slow or bad parts to the book. The author did an amazing job describing everything. She made you feel that you were right there with her characters. I have read a few books that have completely sucked me in, but this one tops them all so far. I highly recommend this book to the readers who love a good adventure of love.
Recently divorced kindergarten teacher Jazz Shepherd is starting a new life in the quaint lakeside town of Bluegill. After taking a summer job at the local marina to help make ends meet, she's stunned when the chief of police enlists her help in solving a crime.
Money has been disappearing from the city coffers, and a trail leads from Bluegill's mayor to Damien Cerberus, a rich boat owner—and possible killer. The police chief is short-staffed and in need of someone to keep tabs on the suspect. Jazz's job at the marina puts her in the perfect position to help—and puts her in the path of Kurt Reynolds, the hottie who mans the fireboat.
When things with Kurt start heating up, how can Jazz keep her investigation undercover while enjoying time under the covers with her summer flame?
