Burn For Me

Phoenix Fire #1

Caine is what most people in the paranormal world would call a phoenix. He can control fire as well as emanate heat from his body. He does not think that being a prisoner would bring him his mate, his reason for living. He also thought he would remain a prisoner in the testing facility for the rest of his life. But one sniff from the new doctor completely changed that for him. He now knew who his mate was and he would do anything to protect her and keep her with him.

Eve is a reporter who has gone undercover to expose the torture of non-human people. She wants the world to know how they are treated and she wants it stopped. She feels that everyone should be treated equally whether they have ability or not. She just never thought that meeting one of the non-humans would change her and her life. She also did not think that she would find out who she truly was in the process.

Throughout the book Caine and Eve fight to be together and to stay alive. They are hunted by the same place where Caine was held prisoner. They eventually have to kill. Eve tried to show Caine that there is more to life then running away from everything and settling down in one place can be a good thing.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was different from the other books I read from this author, but it was still interesting to read. It sucked me in from the very beginning. The descriptions that the author gave about certain things made me actually want to be there in person. I cannot wait for the next book to come out.

Book Blurb for Burn For Me

Eve Bradley was undercover looking for a story, not a cause. But something about the man they called Subject Thirteen got her involved. The scientists said he was a devil, and they had a decent case: Terrifying power. A bad attitude. And looks that could lead anyone to sin...

Cain O'Connor knows the minute he catches her candy scent that Eve could drive him wild. But she's a threat - in a way no one has been for him in years. She's safer away from him, too. But with a powerful conspiracy determined to shut Eve up for good, there's no time to argue. All they can do is trust their instincts - and their hearts...
