I enjoy majority of the novels written by author Lynsay Sands but I could not become involved in the actual story of her latest release Vampire Most Wanted.
The novel itself was written at such a slow pace that I ended up becoming lost within the depths as I read it. I was horribly disappointed with the entire context of the novel as well as by the chosen writing style of Sands.
From the beginning I have enjoyed the Argeneau series. It's bold, humorous at times and I favor how Sands adds a bit of fun into the darkness of the series. Still Vampire Most Wanted was completely different than anything I have ever read by Sands.
The chemistry between the hero and the heroine was lacking so strongly that there was absolutely no room whatsoever for romance. This novel is by no means a romantic, paranormal read which was yet another disappointment for me.
As I read throughout the novel I just found it to be dry and unentertaining. There are so many scenes that feel as if they were entirely placed in the novel to fill up remaining pages and would last through the entire course of the novel. When I reached the ending I found many lose ends and none of them were tied up. It almost felt as if the book was supposed to continue onward when it fact the plot had ended.
In some ways this novel read more like a family saga for me rather than focusing on the hero and the heroine. I am not saying this novel is the worst I have ever read because it isn't. It did in fact have a few scenes that I found to be likable. In the end I was expecting something a little more along the lines of dark, dangerous and exciting as Sands writing normally lives up to such a hype. Instead I received dry, rushed and not at all thrilling.
I have plans to continue to read novels by Sands as I relate to her as an author. Vampire Most Wanted was the only miss for me and sadly I will not be revisiting the characters or the plot anytime soon.
