The Irresistible Rogue

Playful Brides, #4

Lately I have been expressing quite boldly in my reviews the lack of romance this year’s historical-romances. There have been a few exceptions of course, but for the most part I have not been satisfied with historical-romances recently. That is until now. To put it mildly I loved this book from beginning to end as it was enriched with pure romantic fun that will have readers hooked from page one!

Finally after a difficult search I have discovered an author that has written a romantic novel that does not shy from the romance. This book contained every single trait that I love the most about romantic novels including a sensual chemistry that was filled with both humor and strong heat that had me blushing a few times. Bowman is exactly what I look for in a romance author and I was so happy to have discovered this beautiful love story that had me rooting and smiling throughout the day.

Daphne, the heroine was exactly the kind of heroine that I both admire and enjoy. She was sharp-witted and independent. She didn't lack courage to aid in protecting her country following the aftermath of the war nor for her love and devotion to Rafe, her husband that she secretly married a year prior to the book taking place.

As for Rafe he was as rugged as the waves that his ship has sailed as the captain in the royal navy. Handsome, daring and a true hero I fell for Rafe's sense of humor and love for Daphne the moment that he denied his wife an annulment. Together both he and Daphne embark on an adventure that leads directly into the arms of one another and directly into the path of danger.

If I could recommend only a handful of books this year this book would be in my top three. Do read this book this year. I promise you will find no greater romantic escapade.

Book Blurb for The Irresistible Rogue

Daphne Swift has not laid eyes on her devilishly charming husband, Captain Rafferty Cavendish, in quite some time. As a matter of fact, she wants the rogue to annul their brief marriage so that she can marry the reliable and estimable Lord Fitzwell. But the breathtakingly handsome Rafe is not interested in letting Daphne go-at least not without paying his scandalous price...

Rafe prefers to face the dangers of spying alone, but this time he needs his innocent, fiery wife to uncover the information he seeks. He has even agreed to release her from their marriage if she submits completely to his plan. However, Daphne's alluring combination of courage and curves makes her a dangerous distraction, and it is not long before Rafe is trading subterfuge for seduction in order to prove that Daphne is meant to be his and his alone...
