Dark Protectors, #7

I have mixed emotions when penning this review because the Dark Protectors series that I have loved for so long is about to come to an end and yet I have immensely enjoyed every exhilarating moment that I spent intertwined within the boundaries of such books including Marked as Zanetti is wicked fun.

Normally I stray from reading darker books or at least those that deal with any interaction among demons, but I took a chance with this book because I couldn't resist such the temptation. Temptation is one Zanetti trait. She will make any reader want to take a walk on the darker side of sin with her twisted plots and alpha, sizzling heroes.

Zane is such a hero. It was incredibly hard not to favor him in this book. He wasn't as dominant when compared to some of the other heroes I've meant in this series, but he stood solo on many of his own traits. This is another great thing about Zanetti, her ability to continue a series but it is never as if as a reader you will read the same book twice or stumble across the same hero written within a different plot.

As for the plot in this book, it went from times of being dark to a lighter tone and then back to being dark. I really enjoyed this combo because I think it highlighted Janie’s (heroine) personality a little more and it added something unique that I have not seen before in this series. So overall the concept of the plot is not only entertaining and fun but it can also be along the lines of sweeter tasting from time to time.

There is nothing to complain about with this novel. The romance, the sensual chemistry, and the plot are woven in a deadly, suspense web. As always Zanetti delivered a writing style that cannot be matched and I think that is the sole reason as why I favor her so much as an author. She is not only talented, but her ability to tell an immoral story is something that this industry sorely needs.

Needless to confess I will be continuing to read such novels penned by Zanetti and I encourage you to do the same as disappointment is never an option.

Book Blurb for Marked

Janie Kayrs has known Zane almost her whole life. He was her friend in the dream world. She trusted him. But that was before he kidnapped her, spiriting her away to an isolated cabin to learn what her dreams never told her. Like how dangerous he looks. How he got on the wrong side of the negotiating table. And how much sexier he is in real life…

Zane is a battle-hardened warrior, used to command and solitude. But Janie has drawn him from the minute they met. His need for her could destroy everything he’s worked for, but the risk is too sweet not to take it. They call her the Chosen One. But when it comes down to the questions of peace or war, life or death, safety or passion, it will be Janie who makes the choice…

Love is about to start conquering…
