Out of all the romance novels that I have read this year I feel as if York is one of an exceptional few that brought to life such a lavish and vigorous love story. I was more than satisfied by the contents of this book including the plot itself, but the romance is what made this story such a captivating read for me.
I did at first have my doubts regarding this book. Whenever the hero is a highlander I tend to carefully consider whether or not I want to review the story. I feel like highlanders are so widely popular with both authors and readers alike that sometimes the theme is dried out. Again, I am going to praise York for penning a hero that remained loyal to what readers love most about such a hero and yet Alexander was slightly different enough for me to enjoy is character.
Naturally I think that Hannah however is my favorite character in this book. In many ways she was more of the standard heroine that readers should expect to find in romance novel, but her customary traits blended beautifully against the raw masculinity of Alexander. So from both accounts of the characters I was happy.
Now to discuss the romance. The author truly has surpass the industry of romance. This book from the beginning to the end had a romance that was not only memorable, but was a rare jewel to find. This book was in many ways the perfect read for me strictly based on the romance. The author never missed a single step. York is what I enjoy most about romance because she allows the romance to be the central focus within her stories.
If you are looking for one of the best romance reads of the year that I would thoroughly recommend this book. I can hardly wait to get my eyes on the rest of the Untamed Highlander series!
