When the temperatures start to cool down as autumn arrives, I find myself wanting to be in the kitchen baking and cooking in general. Since I have been cooking since I was fourteen-years-old, a day in the kitchen is a comfort. However, finding the right recipes can sometimes be tricky and so I am always looking for cookbooks that can stand out and impress me. Today I am taking a break from sharing my everyday romance reviews to share my thoughts on this cookbook.
Do not let the title scare you into not purchasing this cookbook. Eating gluten free is not nearly as hard as it sounds. This book is filled with a wide variety of colorful and easy recipes that you do not have to wait until breakfast to enjoy. Each recipe has an ingredient list and simple instructions that made my time in the kitchen both fun and rewarding.
For the longest time I have been experimenting with the idea of eating gluten free. Mostly due to a health issue that I will not disclose. Like most people I was skeptical of trying a gluten-free lifestyle because I was worried the food would lack taste. This book quickly put those thoughts to an end. The recipes were delicious and I never would have known that the foods were gluten-free and for that matter neither did my family or friends!
As for the recipes, I actually made the carrot muffins and the apple walnut crumb cakes for dessert. Of course there are many more recipes that can be made into desserts within the book as well. So this is a great suggestion that I wanted to pass on along with the idea that there are some great, seasonal recipes within the book as well.
This book really changed my opinion on eating gluten-free. It's a lifestyle change that I am thinking of doing in the near future and I have both this book and its author to thank.
