I was overly delighted with this book. This novel was almost like receiving an unexpected package, small and bundled and yet so welcoming. The small town setting was very picturesque and let's face it, sexy hero Theo only adds to the charm and wit of any romantic novel!
Until now I haven't uncovered a couple that went so well together as Theo and Irene do. Together, both the characters worked so well together, even given their past history together. I was thrilled when the author decided to let a former flamed romance continue years later into something that had hot sparks and instant chemistry from the time that Theo ends back in town. The romance itself flowed easily and wasn't overly done. I like the bits of teasing that Cannon added into her novel as it kept myself as the reader interested from the beginning.
This novel is a typical romantic read. It just worked so well for me. The fact that Theo has a passion for flying just added to his sex appeal. As for Irene I think the details of her wedding business suited her personality and allowed for the pressure of her and Theo's chemistry to continue to grow since Theo was going to end up the best man for his older brother's wedding. Irene was entrusted with the wedding details.
Most of the time I stray from novels that focus on the ideal of weddings, because I feel like it is something that is already overdone and the plots seem to tire easily. But this is not the case with Molly Cannon and certainly not with this book! I am so pleased that I selected Flirting with Forever for review and that I was able to read Theo and Irene's novel from a new reader standpoint.
The next time I see a Molly Cannon novel you can be sure that I am going to devour it just as I did Flirting with Forever!
Something old and something new . . .
Flying is Theo Jacobson's passion. Soaring above the clouds, he's on to the next adventure . . . and the next woman. So when he comes home to Everson, Texas, for his big brother's wedding, it's nothing but a pit stop. He'll act as best man, cover the family business while the happy couple honeymoons, and be on his way before the champagne goes flat. But all that changes when he comes face-to-face with the wedding planner-the very same woman who broke his heart without a backward glance years ago.
Irene Cornwell started I Do I Do with a wing and a prayer. Now, with two weddings under her belt, it's a piece of cake . . . until Theo lands back in town. Just seeing his twinkling blue eyes and infuriatingly sexy smile turns her world upside down. For the sake of her business, she proposes an uneasy truce. But when the wedding is over-all bets are off!
