Caught Up In Raine

Caught Up In Love, #1

L.G. O'Connor’s Caught Up In Raine is an imaginative read that gives us heartbreak and sadness, but also allows us to experience what it would be like to have that feeling of 'young love' again. During the first half of this book, I felt like the story was okay. The writing was a bit different but the plot was interesting, and the second half of the book drew me in even more. I have to admit, I was all caught up in Raine as the reader. I understand the pull that the main character, Jillian, feels toward Raine. The attraction was there before she even realized it with her unconscious actions, making it clear that she made the decision to keep him around. When things come to a head near the end of the book, I was surprised with the outcome given the character’s circumstances, which lead to my favorite part of the story when there is a beautiful scene that made the whole story so much more significant. For all the contemporary romance fans out there, this book is for you. I recommend it highly.

In Caught Up In Raine, Jillian is leaving the hospital when she spots a man who looks like the main character in the new book she is writing. After a photo shoot for Jillian’s book cover, Raine and Jillian keep trying to find ways to see each other. When Raine finds himself in the hospital again, that's when things start to heat up in the story. There are so many factors when it comes to the reasons why Jillian's reluctant to start a relationship with Raine, but once she sees him for whom he really is, Raine seems to bring back the youthfulness within her.

Forty-two and widowed, romance writer Jillian Grant believes hospitals equal death.
