Face the Flames

Sugarland Blue Novel, #6

Welcome back to Sugarland and Station Five. Clay Montana is a fire fighter who is hurt on duty and after a long recovery he’s trying to get back in shape. He meets Detective Melissa Ryan by chance and it changes both their lives. Melissa came back to Sugarland to live but not all the memories are good. But with a little help from some friends she might just come out ahead and win the man of her dreams.

I was so glad to see a new book in this series and glad to see it brought us back to the fire station and the police station. If you haven’t read the first books, please do. This could be a standalone book, but you would not understand the background of this book.

This is book six and Clay is now one of the lone single guys. He’s loving it. But when he is hurt and recovering, he finds that special someone. Melissa is a strong female character a detective who has survived a bad childhood. She’s not looking for love. But these two are perfect for each other. They are both alphas.

This story has lots of action and a bad guy, but we have a happy ending. It’s always a pleasure to read this author and this was a great bridge between her Sugarland fire station and police department books. Thanks for a great visit.

Book Blurb for Face the Flames

The author of Bring the Heat returns to Sugarland, where a firefighter from Station Five will face the dangers in risking his heart...

A near-fatal accident left firefighter/paramedic Clay Montana with devastating injuries. Now, after a year-long recovery, Clay is focused on one thing: getting his body back to form, so he can return to the job he loves. And then a chance meeting with a fiery redhead changes his life...

Detective Melissa Ryan may be the new cop on the block, but she’s no stranger to Sugarland. It’s where she lived with her violent, criminal uncle—a man she needs to see behind bars. But when she meets Clay at a crime scene, the down-but-far-from-out firefighter makes her rethink her priorities.

Getting close to Clay is intoxicating, but Melissa must keep her wits about her if she’s to protect them from a man with deadly intentions…
