Walking the Straight Line

Peyton had taken over his father's business working as a dentist in a small town. One day, Joel - a friend of Peyton's from college and the man he has feelings for - comes to town with a new friend. It is what happens next that makes things interesting.

I enjoyed this short story of friendship, miscommunication, and stopping to, well, smell the roses very much.  Even though Walking the Straight Line was a short story, the characters were drawn vividly and I liked seeing how the more outgoing Joel "worked" with the more reserved Peyton - and how Malik workedw ith them both.

Quite enjoyable read.
