Under the Blood Red Moon

Angelica Shelton Belanov is an unusual young lady in 1870’s London. Her mother was an English lady and her father was a Russian prince. She can also hear people’s thoughts. She and her brother left the country to join the social whirl. Angelica has a hidden agenda in that she wants to marry for money in order to prevent her brother from finding out they are in financial trouble. While searching for a husband, she stumbles across a very attractive and mysterious gentleman named Alexander who can speak in her mind. Much to her surprise, Alexander is a member of a clan of immortals who must remain hidden. He is on the hunt for a killer that could betray his race’s existence if the killer isn’t stopped. Will Angelica be able to break through Alexander’s reserve and teach him to love again? Will Alexander stop the killer before it is too late?
This was a good but not compelling read. Angelica is a charming character but Alexander didn’t seem very fleshed out. The mythology of the immortals was thoroughly thought out and creative. The historical touches gave you a sense of the time and place but were not overwhelming. If you are enamored of paranormal historicals I would recommend this as it would be to your taste.
